Mombasa United produced a strong comeback performance to defeat MCF 3–1 and move to the top of the National Super League table.

Mombasa United climbed to the top of the National Super League table after a brilliant 3–1 comeback victory over MCF at the Mombasa Sports Club.

The visitors struck early in the 3rd minute through John Omondi, who stunned the home crowd with a long-range effort from the centre circle.

Despite the early setback, Mombasa United responded with composure and attacking intent. Their persistence paid off just before halftime when James Onyango capitalised on a loose ball to bring the sides level.

After the break, United came out stronger and more determined. Defender Juma Mwajao gave the hosts the lead in the 69th minute, tapping in after a rebound from a powerful shot.

Substitute Abdallah Swaleh sealed the victory in style in the 78th minute, scoring with his first touch from long range to make it 3–1.

The win maintains Mombasa United’s strong home record and sends them to the top of the league standings, highlighting their growing momentum in the promotion race.

Speaking after the match, head coach Gilbert Selebwa praised his team’s resilience, noting their ability to stick to the game plan despite going behind early.
