Narrow Defeat for The Sultans in Nairobi Test

Mombasa United continued preparations for the 2026/27 season with a narrow 1–0 defeat to Tusker FC in a closed-door friendly in Nairobi.

A single goal separated the sides as The Sultans stepped up their pre-season programme against established Premier League opposition.

A different kind of test

With no crowd and no points at stake, the afternoon was about something different: testing the work being done on the training ground.

The encounter gave Head Coach Abdulhamid Moallin and his technical team another opportunity to assess the squad in competitive conditions, work through different ideas and build match sharpness as the new campaign draws closer.

Tusker provided strong opposition and there was little between the two sides, with one goal ultimately deciding the contest.
